Vision 2020: Learn to Walk Alone

2019 wasn't easy and 2020 will bring it is own challenges and it is OK! If we are alive, we always have the option of focusing on the positive and sustaining our inner peace. Yes, there can be anxious moments but with the right focus we can redirect them. If it's hard to focus by ourselves, it is helpful to talk to someone who can help refocus. It is not the amount of money in our bank accounts or the number of people of around us, it is our peaceful inner-being that matters. There's nothing more valuable than friends and family members who truly care for us!

Last three months have been extraordinarily hard for our family. If not for God and His people, I am not sure how things would have turned out. In addition to our family members on both sides, God sent amazing superwomen to me from all directions. Each one with a unique talent to fix me up so that I could move forward with a smile! Only in America, an Indian woman is protected and supported by a squad of Jewish, Muslim, Protestant and Catholic women, ages ranging from early 30s to late 60s, with pure love and no judgement. No pain can withstand the comforting balm that culminates from counseling, advice, dinner dates, and sometimes tail kicking from my sisters! They taught me the skill of walking alone even when you are surrounded by loved ones.

Love and relationships are huge blessings and I am blessed with a beautiful family. However, it is important to find moments to walk alone. Walking alone strengthens our emotional limbs and develops the much needed wings we need to fly! Walking alone helps us to understand our own tenacity and teaches us to rely on ourselves. Walking alone better connects us with nature and lets us imbibe the positive energy it offers us. Walking alone helps us communicate effectively with our creator to unwrap the miracles and unfold the mysteries that are scattered on our way home! Yes, it is absolutely beautiful to hold hands and stroll with your soulmate and yet it is equally important, if not more, to walk alone! The best part of walking alone is that one is never lonely!

Deepest gratitude to Amy, Amber, Henrietta, Hillary, Ritu, Lydia and Uzma for your consistent support in the last three months. I hope everyone in this world has someone who understands and empathizes with them just the way my heroines did for me! Thank you also to our broader friends and colleagues for your phone calls, messages, cards, conversations and prayers. We have conquered through the grace of almighty! In the year 2020, please make friends and celebrate friendships!
